Calvary Christian Academy

Fort Lauderdale, FL USA

Theatre with great sightlines for student performances.

Calvary Christian Academy, a ministry of Calvary Chapel of Fort Lauderdale, built a four-story discipleship building to be used for their secondary classrooms and elective programs. The state-of-the-art facility houses a 700-seat theatre with full fly space, black box theatre, dance studio, choir, band and orchestra rehearsal rooms and classrooms that are designed to be interactive and media-rich.

The main theatre has two audio systems to allow for the best experience when used for dramatic performance and concerts, while remaining effective for lectures. The theatre is also equipped with automated rigging and theatrical lighting systems. Video projection systems were needed in the classrooms and music rehearsal spaces. The black box theatre was also designed with infrastructure distribution for audio, video and lighting, keeping the space flexible with the ability to be easily reconfigured.
