Our Savior Church

USC Catholic Center

Los Angeles, CA USA

Supporting a sacred space with creative solutions for acoustical treatments.

The Catholic Community on the USC campus was first established in 1923. Over the years the growth and changing demographics of the student population has seen the need for new facilities and expanded services. A capital and endowment campaign began in 2006 to build a new 25,000sf Our Savior Parish Church and Catholic Center at the corner of 32nd Street and Hoover. The new Center replaced the existing 10,300sf USC Catholic Center on the site. This center serves students as a place to gather, socialize, study, worship and serve the community and includes the 350-seat sanctuary. Idibri collaborated with the team to provide a design for room acoustics, sound isolation and noise and vibration control. An "old world" aesthetic was desired allowing us to provide creative solutions for incorporating acoustical treatments.
